The Embera are friendly, colorful indigenous people who originally came to Panama from northern Columbia. Their sources of income are primarily from eco tourism and from sales of handmade baskets and of carved items made from wood and tagua nut.

Image date: March 23, 2011.This is a guyacan tree in bloom for the third time in 2011. The blossoms last only for a short time. Photographed with a Lumix point and shoot digital.
